Hypocrisy Versus Imperfection
How to you identify hypocrisy versus human imperfection? (Serendipity Bible Fourth Edition, page 1654).
Human imperfection is most indicated by over reliance on pigeonholes and labels. Hypocrisy is based on active ill will and resentment over the integrity of others whilst we feed at the trough of compromise. Human imperfection jumps to conclusions based upon the cover of the book rather than the contents. Human hypocrisy defaces the book out of self-loathing. At the base of imperfection is oversimplification; at the base of hypocrisy is a complex and seething resentment. This is why Jesus characterized hypocrisy as evil and human frailty as forgivable--one is based on hatred whilst the other is based on ignorance.
