Deep Cleaning
Today my house is getting ready for sale
--a deep cleaning they call it
Spray washing the outside
Fresh caulking in the bathroom
Filling up the nail holes throughout where pictures once hung--
Getting ready to leave without a trace,
Or so is the immediate objective.
Yet even now the future pulls
When the final deep cleaning begins.
