Psychological Power
Isaiah 40:28-31
New Living Translation (NLT)
Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
My Creative Process class includes an assignment to create something during each of the next 31 days (35 in all). Many years have past since I wrote poems on a regular basis--I was in my 20's when I did so (I'm now 70). My project will be to write a short poem each day and post it on this blog. I hope you will find them interesting.
Psychological Power
Understanding when morphed into conviction
Is the most powerful force in human affairs....
Not withstanding the inherent merit of that conviction
Or the lack of it;
It might be an irrational prejudice against the Jews,
It might be a nonrational conviction and faith in kindness;
Whatever the source....the result is the same
An intense and formidable psychological power.
