Giving expression in the end,
To hallowed causes self-determined
And the tragedy of inescapable human conflict
And the spiritual demons that divided us,
In the parlors and on the battlefields—
Is there any doubt that in death
Victory is not denied to anyone
So long as memories obligate the living
